Destroyer novel I am reading now says next book will be last published by Golden Eagle Books.
New publisher--or no new books? It has been a long haul--don't bail out now. |

Gary, things are just fine with The Destroyer.
The new Destroyer will come out in April 2007 and be published by Tor Books. (Watch for it.)
The new books will be written by Jim Mullaney (a fan favorite) and also be co-authored by Warren Murphy, which will make them extra special. _________________ The floater stroke . . . still the coolest Sinanju technique. |

The Destroyer has been going strong since 1971. It is 2006 and still going strong. If I were a betting man (and I am) I would bet that in another 30 years time it will still be going strong.
Here's to Tor for being smart. _________________ The floater stroke . . . still the coolest Sinanju technique. |

I just found this Site and joined right away so please bare with me;-)))
i´m still reading all the blogs hear and i am trying to figure out what is going on, living here in Germany it was real hard getting a hold of the next Destroyer Book cause i have been hooked them since 1984 when my former Boss let me read the number 3 Book and from then on i was addicted. I have been married to a Korean since 1979 and that also is part of the reason i love the character of Chiun so much. It wasn´t until a few years ago that Amazon in Germany started selling the series in English that i finally found a direct source to aquire the Books and now o hear it is the END for The Destroyer, but a new series is starting. Will the Characters still be the same? Will it continue where Dragon Bones left off? Please anyone HELP me if you can.
my real name is James Mumpower but my member name is chun song which my Korean Family gave me. thanks _________________ Long Live the The House of Sinanju |

Hi, Chunsong.
It's called the New Destroyer, but it's still going to be the same series. Warren Murphy wanted to distance it from the last three years that Gold Eagle was publishing the Destroyer. GE had the contract and they could do whatever they liked with the series creatively, so when Jim Mullaney left (he wrote books #111 - #131), they brought in a new author who took the books in a direction Warren didn't care for.
There's an interview with Warren and Jim here from last July, when the new publisher was announced. They answer a lot of questions about where the series is going. They even told us the "His name was Remo..." line from the first book: Guardian Angel. _________________ The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life. -- Teddy Roosevelt |

Hi Donna, thanks for the info. I really got scared that everything was coming to an end. I thought something funny was going on in the series cause the whole storytelling seemed to change, usually it was one chapter with remo and chiun and the next chapter was about whoever was involved in this story and then all of a sudden it one chapter with remo and chiun and the next three or five were about the involved, i started thinking something fishy but thanks to the site here i was cleared up of alot of things. thanks again. PS. do you also know what the book is about called?:The Best of the Destroyer _________________ Long Live the The House of Sinanju |

It's a compilation of three early Destroyer novels: #3: Chinese Puzzle, #12: Slave Safari, and #20: Assassin's Playoff. As part of Tor's contract, they're going to be reprinting some of the earlier books. I don't know if this is going to happen once a year or more frequently.
In addition, Tor is going to be publishing a hardcover Destroyer, but so far we don't know what it will be.
It all comes down to how well the series does. If Tor makes enough money off the Destroyer, they'll renew the contract and give us more hardcovers and more specials. _________________ The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life. -- Teddy Roosevelt |
